Share the Good News of the Risen Lord through the Jesus Film
As we continue on our Lenten journey to the cross and the empty tomb, we want to make you aware of a wonderful opportunity our Church family has to share the good news of our risen Lord. As result of our mission partnerships with Wycliffe Bible Translators and Campus Crusade for Christ, we would like to fund the translation of the JESUS film into the “heart language” of a group of people in Nigeria.
There are over 130,000 people in this group – 97% of whom are non-Christian and none of whom currently has access to the Bible in his or her “heart language.” Because the Bible translation work at Wycliffe has progressed to the point that the gospel of Luke is completed, it is now possible for the JESUS Film Project of Campus Crusade for Christ to produce this feature length film in the Ngizim language.
What they need is a person or a group of people, like us here at COP, to underwrite the cost of the project. It’s a big effort to produce the film in a new language. It will be a challenge for us to fund this work because the cost for producing the JESUS film is $50,000. We believe that this is an amazing opportunity to reach out to a people group that has never heard about God’s love in Jesus Christ. We are praying that this possibility of sharing the Good News with them will stimulate the generosity of our Church family.
This project will be our only special offering this Easter season, so we ask you and your loved ones to begin now to discuss your commitment to this important effort to change the lives of many Ngizim for all of eternity. You will find a special envelope for your use enclosed with this letter.
Imagine what a joy it will be to know that the Lord has used us to share the good news of the risen Lord with people who otherwise might not hear it! We hope you will join us in making an investment in this project that has eternal consequences. To God be the glory!
