Sunday Mornings

Seeds of Faith - 9:15-10:15 a.m. in Room 211
Walk as Jesus Walked: Making Disciples is a five week series focusing on the challenges Jesus’ first disciples faced and how we can be disciples in the 21st century. We will use a DVD and discussion format. Randy Butsch will facilitate this class. If you made a New Year’s Resolution to be a more faithful follower of our Lord, or to see what Bible study is about, this is the class for you!

Christians Under Construction Adult Bible Study
10:30-11:30 a.m., Room 209 - The Israelites lived in the misery of occupation for 800 years. The Assyrians, the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans successively invaded and occupied the land that God had handed over to the Israelites. They prayed for deliverance and the prophets gave promise of a Messiah. What they got was a babe in a manger. We will look at the familiar events of the Christmas story through the eyes of the Israelites. Led by Tom Webber.

Book Group
The Book Group meets January 18, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel. We will be discussing The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers ($6.50) and in February The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. ($10.50). If helpful, both books are available in the Church Office, while the supply lasts. For more information, please contact Suzanne Butsch, 378-3412, rando250@verizon.net, or Doris Kamphuis, 360-8474, rakamphuis@aol.com. All are welcome!

Monday

Women’s Bible Study and Fellowship
The Companions in Christ ten week winter class begins January 12, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Room 209. Featuring study, prayer, worship, sharing and fellowship, The Way of Prayer, is for women of all ages. Join this group and expect your understanding of God to grow. Contact Margaret Wenger, 870-3737 or pwenger4@comcast.net for more information or to sign up for the class.

Tuesday

Men’s Study and Breakfast - 7:00 a.m.
At the Dutch Heritage Restaurant on Bahia Vista Street; just east of Beneva Road. We begin with prayer for one another and others, followed by Bible study – the Book of James. Led by Dale Vollrath.

Wednesday

Men’s Bible Study - 7:30 a.m. - Chapel
“Missionary Journeys of the Apostle Paul” - Join a small group as we follow the journeys of Paul from his conversion on the road to Damascus to imprisonment in Rome (and beyond?). As Paul spreads the Gospel, he also develops Christian theology in his letters to new churches. We owe most of our theology to Paul. His letters comprise two-thirds of the New Testament. Led by Tom Webber and Rev. Marsh.

Faith At Work - 4:00 p.m. - Chapel -
Small group study and fellowship - offers a twelve part series, “Discovering Jesus.” This video-based program is narrated by Dr. Gordan Moyes with filming from the land of Israel. Here is a truly engaging and in-depth perspective of the historical Jesus. Share in our faith journey and fellowship. Moderators Ben and Bernie Morgan.

Friday

The Friday Morning Bible Study Group
resumes on Friday, January 11, 9:30 am, Room 202. The Gospel of John is the focus of the study, with the first session concentrating on what makes the Gospel of John different and unique. Contact Barbara Zeller, 378-3306 or maudez@earthlink.net for additional information.
