Middle School Summer “Be With” Siesta Beach Event
“Be With” times are fun events that we do off church property. We call them “Be With” times because they are simply times to be together and have fun. Each event is designed for students to feel comfortable inviting a friend to come and for students who come alone to make new friends. These events are for students who are entering 6-8th grade this fall. Our next “Be With” is Wednesday, August 18 4:30-7:30 p.m. We will play beach games and cook out at Siesta beach. Please bring a side to share (fruit, chips, dessert, salad). Please RSVP to Laurie Haas, 924-1323 or LHaas@churchofthepalms.org.

Palms' Men
As the summer races on, the Palms’ Men are gearing up for a new season of programs and events. The Palms’ Men Leadership Team reviewed input from men of the church and prayerfully developed an exciting series of programs to help men connect and grow. The “season” will include the popular breakfast events, an on campus Friday/Saturday event, some sports and service opportunities, a weekend retreat in the Spring, and other ministry/program opportunities. Here are some upcoming events to hold on your calendar:
On Saturday, August 28, we’re off to the ballpark. Palms’ Men invite men, youth and families to McKechnie Field in Bradenton to see the Bradenton Marauders (farm team of the Pittsburgh Pirates) play the Charlotte Stone Crabs (farm team of our Tampa Bay Rays). The game starts at 6:00 p.m. and includes a chance to see the up and coming stars for the Rays and Pirates, a special fireworks display and have fun with family and friends. Kids bring your gloves, and the Palms’ Men will provide some treats.
On Saturday, September 11, we will host our next Breakfast Event and Service Day. We’ll start with the famous pancake breakfast, along with sausage, fruit and beverages. We’ll have a brief program and then head out to a local neighborhood. In honor of September 11, this is a great way to have fellowship while helping serve others in need in our community. No special skills required, just a willingness to help.
Look for more details on these and other upcoming events in the Sunday bulletins and at the Palms Men’S table under the tree.
