Lenten Wednesdays at 6:12 - "Listening for God"
During the six Lenten Wednesdays following Ash Wednesday Dr. McConnell will lead a class in the Sanctuary on developing a deeper relationship with God through which the priority is to hear what God is saying to our lives. We will explore the different spiritual disciplines through which we can understand more clearly what God might be saying to us about how his "kingdom will come" and his "will be done on earth as it is in heaven." If you want to discover how to develop a closer walk with God, this is the class for you!!

Lenten Focus in Sanctuary Worship
During the six Sundays of Lent in Sanctuary worship Dr. McConnell will be leading us in reflecting upon the Lord's Prayer. This prayer which has been on the lips of Christians since the early days of the Church was a means by which Jesus instructed his followers about the agenda of prayer. Each Sunday we will focus on each of the petitions of the prayer and wonder about how we can be open to the kingdom of heaven's agenda.

March 13 - Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

March 20 - Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be Done

March 27 - On earth as it is heaven.

April 3 - Give us this day, Our daily bread.

April 10 - Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

April 17 - Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

"Journey of Stones" A Garden Lenten Journey 
This Lenten season worshipers in The Garden @ Church of the Palms will be embarking on a Journey of Stones. This Lenten experience will draw upon the rich imagery of rocks and stones present in scripture and will use the metaphor of stones (and our willingness to throw them) as representative of our sins. Worshipers will be given a stone as they enter the Sanctuary each week that will serve as a concrete symbol of that day's theme; then as worship concludes we will be invited to place our stones at the foot of the cross. On Easter Sunday when the stone that covers the tomb of our Lord is rolled away, so will our "stones" be removed by the grace of God. We invite you to take this journey with us in The Garden @ Church of the Palms beginning Sunday, March 13 at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m.

Lenten Devotional Booklets Available
We are pleased this Lenten season to have daily devotionals available to members and friends of Church of the Palms. To coincide with Pastor Steve's sermon series on The Lord's Prayer, the ladies of the Companions in Christ classes have compiled their thoughts and reflections on The Lord's Prayer into a devotional booklet for use during our Lenten prayer time. Filled with personal stories and spiritual reflections, this Lenten Devotional Booklet will guide the entire congregation as we reflect on and think about the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples to pray. It is our hope that this booklet will be a valuable companion to you this Lenten season. The booklets will be available under the tree on Sundays and in the church office the rest of the week. We are asking for a $2 donation to offset printing costs for those who are able to do so.
