MEMORIAL GARDEN OF CHURCH OF THE PALMS

“For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep...and so we shall always be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:14, 17)

The Memorial Garden of the Church of the Palms is established for rest, meditation and prayer and for cremated remains of members of the Church of the Palms.
The Garden is Church property and is a non-commercial venture. It is not a cemetery. Lots will not be sold nor deeds issued. The Memorial Garden Board will determine the placement of cremated remains.

1. Persons Eligible:
The Memorial Garden is intended for Members and Affiliate Members of the Church of the Palms, and their spouses.

2. Placement of Cremated Remains:
To maintain the serenity of the garden, no visible evidence of the placement of cremains will be seen and placement of all cremains will be private with only a minister and a member of the Memorial Garden Board in attendance. Placement of cremains in the Garden is optional.

3. Contributions/Process:
The Memorial Garden is maintained by contributions for perpetual care and shall not draw on funding from the operating budget of the Church of the Palms.
Persons interested in arranging for inclusion in the Memorial Garden shall complete a request form and submit a fee of $500 for each individual.
Space may be reserved on the Memorial Garden Wall for a living spouse by submitting a request form and the minimum $500 fee. While engraving of the names is done after application, dates are inscribed after death.

4. Board Action:
Questions should be addressed to the Memorial Garden Board which will review all requests and acknowledge in writing the action taken.

5. Administration:
The Memorial Garden is administered by a Board composed of the Church of the Palms members who are elected by the congregation. This Board is responsible for the operation and the regulations of the Memorial Garden. By action of the Memorial Garden Board these regulations may be amended.

6. Session:
The Memorial Garden Board shall provide appropriate information to the Session.
