Operation ReHabitat 2008
The Summer 2008 Operation ReHabitat is well underway. We have spent the last three weeks demolishing and cleaning in preparation for the next phase - construction! In the next few weeks there will be a new kitchen and bathroom installed along with interior and exterior painting, and landscaping. Please feel free to join us any Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon at 2750 Killgore Place (in the Kensington Park area off of 17th Street and Lockwood Ridge.) Regardless of your skills, there is always something that you can do if you come with a willing heart. Veterans of previous summers and newcomers alike, we look forward to working together and seeing what God is going to do in our midst. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Ann Vollrath at dale.maryann@verizon.net or any other member of the Coordinating Team: Brad Wilson, Mark Usher, Tom Webber, Gerry Hailey, Al Higginbotham, Bill Mallett and Dale Vollrath.

Youth Summer of Missions
Here is a great way for youth to spend some meaningful time this summer and have a positive impact in our community! A variety of mission projects and opportunities are available every day of the week – including weekends. You may not be able to do everything all summer, but every youth can do something – and earn community service hours too. Get on board by contacting Youth Director Derek Thompson, 924-1323, and he’ll see that you get an application to join the Youth Summer of Missions program.

Family First Friday – Friday, August 1 (6:00-8:00 p.m.)
Summer Camp Presents “Journey to New Lands” – Open to all families. You will be amazed as the children take you along on part of their journey to the distant lands of Camelot, the gypsies, islands, mountains, wonderland, and animals. Call 924-1323 x 28 by Wednesday, July 30 to secure a reservation. Donations for dinner will be received.

CedarkirkFamily Camp/Mission Project - October 10-12
This is an opportunity for you to set some time apart to remember what a family is all about. You will be able to swim, canoe, rock climb, sit by the fire, walk a labyrinth, or simply sit on the porch in a rocking chair. You, as a family together, will also be able to help in a special project at Good Samaritan Mission which works with migrant families. Call Debby Wendell, 924-1323 x16, to get your name on the list if you are interested in this weekend.
