Responsibilities for Registrars (during VBS):

Gifts: Loves God and serving others.

Takes Payment . Will have a master list of Alphabetical Names— checks the children in and directs them. The Master List has name, group/age, & allergies.

Chadder Theater Teacher

Gifts: teaching & helping children “find God” in nature, life circumstances, and friends & family.

  1. Get to know your kids
  2. You teach a mini-lesson for 20 minutes (cirriculum is prepared for you and I will supply you with this). There are 4 (20 minute) rotations. During those 20 minutes, you will:
  3. Show an 8-14 minute video each day. The video series is about tracking down a “lost panda.” Each segment reinforces the Bible verse and Bible lesson. You're responsible for teaching these mini-lessons on “finding God.” This is also a time to talk about God's presence in our lives. Children get a chance to write down where they found God.
  4. Pre-K will have same concept, but a separate “mini-lesson” and “movie”
  5. Your teaching day will look like this for 5 days: 9:30-9:50 , 9:55-10:15 , SNACK FOR ALL, 10:40-11:00 , 11:05-11:25 .
  6. We will teach you to use the DVD and clip-art for animal sounds.

Responsibilities for Game leaders & helpers:

Gifts: Loves God, children, and playing games! Enthusiastic and gives direction!

  1. Get to know your kids AND facilitate your kids getting to know each other .
  2. Give them some background before playing the games .
  3. Have materials ready each day and clean up after each day by putting materials in the designated VBS closet. By the end of the week all materials should have a home.
  4. Recruit volunteers
  5. will do 20 minute rotations. Pre-K, has slightly different games to play.

Responsibilities for Snack leaders:

Gifts: Loves God and serving others. Sensitive to food needs. Creative & food savvy ;)

  1. Know allergies
  2. Coordinate with Decorators on how you want your snack set up: play in with the theme of the week.
  3. Assist children in making snacks. (children will rotate making & serving snack)
  4. Recruit helpers
  5. Find a way to get food, serve food, and put away food.
  6. help decorate

Responsibilities for Group leaders & helpers:

Gifts: Loves God. Works with children with patience, love, and enthusiasm

  1. Get to know your kids AND facilitate your kids getting to know each other .
  2. Check-in/check-out children, and keep children together during opening/closing
  3. Know allergies.
  4. Travel with your group and supervise while enjoying yourself.
  5. Find helpers that you want to work with.
  6. Short daily lesson planning and administering

Responsibilities of Decorators:

Gifts: Loves God and serving others through creative and age-appropriate décor.

  1. Sunday at Noon , begin decorating.
  2. Have fun being creative!! =+)
  3. Coordinate with Snack Leader, Games Leader, and Craft Leader on how they would like their areas decorated. **possible Drama Stage

Responsibilities for Open/Closing Coordinator :

Gifts: Loves God and loves children, able to speak well in front of a large group, and get attention from the children. Is upbeat, fun, energetic, did I mention high energy? Loves music, drama and the arts.

Morning Opening : Prepare a welcome, a brief description about the Bible Lesson for the day in a fun, upbeat way that draws the kids in and get them excited:

  • music, dance, a bonding game, drama) Afternoon Closing : Prepare a farewell, give a recap about what we learned.
  • Give Directions or announcements during opening & closing.
  • Help Recruit volunteers for Drama and Music Tech, if needed.
  • Arrange for Technical support for all music times.

Responsibilities for Craft leaders & helpers:

Gifts: Loves God & loves children. Is crafty and artistic, well organized and makes age appropriate decisions on craft abilities, and has good decision making skills.

  1. Get to know the kids, and have fun with them
  2. Decide what crafts and how many you'll do each day
  3. Coordinate with Decorators on how you want your craft area set up: play in with the theme of the week
  4. Coordinate with leader/Children's Minster in ordering the crafts and getting all materials.
  5. Organize the Materials in the designated VBS closet at least a week before VBS
  6. During VBS: Have materials ready the day before and clean up (or put away) after each VBS.
  7. After VBS: By the end of the week, all craft material should be put away, and brought to the resource room.
  8. Recruit volunteers that you would like to work with.
