Wednesday Night Life
Paul’s letter to the Romans is a deeply pastoral letter written to a divided church, proclaiming the good news that in Jesus Christ, God is making all things new and creating one new family from every nation. Throughout these sixteen weeks we will explore the great themes that have shaped Christian faith for centuries: grace, justification, faith, sin, hope, life in the Spirit, and God’s faithfulness. At the same time, Romans offers intensely practical guidelines to nurture communities through humility, reconciliation, generosity, and love. Romans continually asks not only, “What do we believe?” but also, “How then shall we live?”
Join us in person in the Campus Center from 6:30-7:15pm or watch online as we discuss one chapter of Romans each week. We hope you will join a small group to connect with and care for one another as you discuss the reading and teaching.
Romans 7 Study Questions:
- Paul continues to speak of the power of death that makes new life possible. What are some things in your own life that need to pass away so that new life is possible?
- Paul describes the inner conflict of knowing what is right, but doing what is wrong. Have your ever known “the right thing” but felt helpless to do it?
- Paul uses first person language (I/me) a lot in chapter seven. Why do you think he does this?
